The BBC announced today that every programme on BBC One will be broadcast in high definition by the end of 2010. And even more exciting that Freesat (and Freeview, Sky and Virgin Media) will all be showing BBC One in full HD from Autumn this year.

This is on top of the existing BBC HD channel which will now be boosted to 12 hours of HD programming per day from it’s previous 9 hours.

Head of BBC HD, Danielle Nagler, said: “HD is the future of television. People who have HD have clearly told us that they want more of their content in HD”.

In time the BBC plan to deliver all of their programming in HD.
