Sky Sports News To Leave Freesat
Add Your Comment
Sky has revealed plans to remove Sky Sports News from both Freeview and Freesat. The channel will be replaced instead by Sky 3+1 (the 1 hour delayed version of Sky 3).
Whilst Freesat sports fans will not appreciate the move, Sky says this is being done in preperation to convert the channel to subscription only so it can then be upgraded to HD. Which isn’t much comfort for those who have been watching it on free to air for the last 8 years. Perhaps Sky hasn’t thought of just leaving an standard definition version on Freesat and Freeview…
The date of the withdrawal is yet to be announced, instead Sky are just sating ‘later this year’.

It’s getting replaced with Sky 3+1 (i.e. Road Wars), not Sky Sports 3+1 (i.e. a load of sports that no one likes)…so please, get your facts straight.

Typo fixed – the clue was in the brackets, i.e. where it says “(the 1 hour delayed version of Sky 3)”
